Judged on over 1,600 schools in the UK, Parent Power is widely acknowledged as the most authoritative survey of the country’s best schools. It assesses academic results as well as the performance of a given school compared to others in the same town, local authority and nationally.
We are proud that our school is built upon an ethos of encouraging children to develop their interests and talents, and fully participating in the life of our busy school, offering a very personal and unique family atmosphere. Being a small school, teaching staff know all of our pupils individually and work with them to achieve their best – something evidenced by our incredible GCSE results in 2022.
Dr Rebecca Ashcroft, Head of Red House, said:
‘I am absolutely thrilled that Red House School remains the top independent school in the North in the Sunday Times Parent Power 2023 League Tables. We were ranked number 5 in the United Kingdom, which is a fantastic accolade and a fitting testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff and pupil body. I would like to especially thank our parents for their ongoing support and commitment.’
Red House School has also recently received the School Mental Health Award from the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools. We are proud to be the only independent school in the North East to have won this award, which demonstrates our passion for wellbeing and positive mental health. In addition, we also received recognition on a national level for the tremendous work in our Early Years. We were the only school in the North to be a finalist in the prestigious Independent School Association awards for ‘Excellence and Innovation in Early Years’ in 2022.
