Pupils, parents and staff at Red House School are celebrating another year of incredible GCSE results which has seen 99.7% obtaining grades 4-9 (previously grades C-A*), 82.6% grades were 6-9 (previously B-A*) and 65% of grades were 7-9 (previously grades A-A*). 100% of grades in Mathematics & English Language were 4-9 (previously C-A*)
Dr Rebecca Ashcroft, Head of Red House, said:
‘I am absolutely delighted with our outstanding GCSE results. 99.7% of our grades are at grade 4 and above, and 65% of our grades are between 7-9, which is a stunning achievement in a year when the grade 4-9 rate is lower nationally, after the grade inflation of the last few years.
I am extremely proud of our pupils, whose results reflect their hard work, commitment and resilience over the past few years. They have performed brilliantly, despite having missed substantial periods of schooling since March 2020, and getting to grips with online learning. They richly deserve the success that today has brought.’
Individual Red House highlights include, Ankith, who achieved a brilliant 10 grade 9’s and 1 grade 8; Katie who was awarded 8 grade 9’s, 1 grade 8 and 2 grade 7’s; Chloe who achieved 6 grade 9’s, 4 grade 8’s and 1 grade 6; and Bede who was awarded 6 grade 9’s, 2 grade 8’s and 3 grade 7’s.
Ankith said: ‘I was quite nervous this morning but after opening my results I was extremely happy. I was not expecting to get these results! I’m so glad that all my hard work has paid off’.
Ankith’s mother said: ‘We are overjoyed with his results. We want to thank Red House and all the staff. These tremendous results are a credit to the school and their teaching. The support and online teaching during lockdown was phenomenal’.
Chloe said: ‘I didn’t sleep much last night as I was very nervous about today. I was extremely happy when I opened my results’.
Bede said: ‘It’s hard to take it all in but I’m very happy with how well I have done.
Other high Red House achievers include James who was awarded 4 grade 9’s, 5 grade 8’s and 2 grade 7’s and Rose who achieved 4 grade 9’s, 6 grade 8’s and 1 grade 7.
Dr Rebecca Ashcroft, continued:
‘I am hugely grateful to every member of staff for their dedication and encouragement. I know our pupils will join me in thanking their teachers and, of course, their parents. As our pupils embark upon their next exciting steps, I wish them all the very best.’
